I’d like to tell you the story of how Natural Living Aloe came to be where it is today. Over the years, Natural Living Aloe has helped, healed and amazed, not only me but family members, friends and many happy customers. I include a few samples of these success stories.
The story starts during the 2nd world war in 1944. At 6 weeks old with no medication available I contracted double pneumonia.
The Doctor told my mother there was no possibility of survival and to let me slip away. Not one to give in easily, my mother and aunts took it in turns for 6 months to give me constant upright nursing with only the steam from a kettle to aid my breathing. This saved my life as laying me down would have been instant death. Six months later I gradually recovered.
Double Pneumonia
When I was 13 months old my brother John was born and seven months later we both contracted double pneumonia. The outlook again was bleak. My mother and father had to nurse two dying babies alone as my mother had moved away from her sisters. Sadly, my brother John died and I slowly recovered.
Throughout my life I have been plagued with assorted chest problems, pneumonia, bronchitis and pleurisy, sometimes being hospitalised. A simple cold could be with me for months with constant coughing. Even antibiotics didn’t always help.
Since taking my Aloe regularly from 1995 to this day 2010, 15 years in fact, I have never had a cold or flu that I could not shake off in 2-3 days. This to me is utterly amazing when you consider my medical history. I have never needed to take antibiotics, only Aloe in high doses if I came into contact with a cold or flu. As you can imagine my Aloe has been a godsend to me.
Car Accident
I was involved in a nasty car accident when I was 23, leaving me, on and off, with constant backache. Now and again I would have to take painkillers and anti-inflammatories, but both of these gave me unpleasant side effects. In 1995 I decided to explore natural solutions to these health problems.
My sister in America at the time was raving about Aloe Vera. She told me how it had helped to get rid of her psoriasis and a nagging bad cold. I decided to look into Aloe Vera and found that Aloe Vera could improve my immune system, act as an antibiotic and as a natural anti-inflammatory.
This had the potential to help my chest and back problems. I read as much literature as I could on Aloe Vera and decided to give it a try.
I soon discovered that whole leaf Aloe Vera was the most potent and it was important to have a product with the Aloin effectively removed, as this was an irritant to the stomach if taken in high enough quantities.
I could not find a product of this calibre available in the UK, so I had to order it in from the USA. Aloe Vera was available in the UK at the time, but only in low quality products. Nothing that compared to the high potency whole leaf alternatives available in the USA.
After taking the products and seeing their benefits with my own eyes, I travelled to the States to meet with the Aloe experts. In 1995 I decided to set up a company selling high potency whole leaf Aloe Vera products in the UK.
Natural Living Products Ltd was born.
Over the next three years my reputation grew in Surrey, selling to Chemists and Health shops. I met hundreds of my clients personally, all with differing conditions and requirements and all claimed to derive benefit from taking my Aloe. I had no problem in advocating high doses, when appropriate, as my Aloe was effectively Aloin free.
I always asked my clients to let their Doctors know when they had derived particular benefit from taking my Aloe as I wanted the medics to appreciate the power of whole leaf Aloe Vera.
I spoke to many Doctors who were receptive to the benefits their patients had received and some who were closed minded despite the evidence and witness of their own patients. As it happened many of my clients’ problems were predominantly bowel related, IBS and colitis being the main issues.
Clinical Trials
This is where our journey to clinical trials began, as explained in more detail on our clinical trials page.
To this end I invited the Aloe world experts to meet with Doctors and Consultants. They brought with them a suitcase full of documentary evidence of the effectiveness of my Aloe, which impressed the medics and in consequence they agreed to start double-blind clinical trials in two UK hospitals.
The trials were a success, the patients took high doses of aloe with no side effects. I considered raising necessary funding to carry out more extensive trials, but around this time my dear mother suffered a stroke and needed 24/7 care and attention. So selling aloe and further trials gradually fell by the wayside.
Natural Living Products Ltd became pretty much dormant. Until now.
Swine Flu
Historically, many of my clients had taken my aloe as both a preventive and a treatment for colds and flu and many too had commented on the symptom relief my aloe had given them. With this in mind and swine flu catching the headlines, I decided to relaunch the company, once again making Natural Living Aloe available to the UK public.
Over the years Natural Living Aloe has helped many people with assorted medical problems. Of course many of them came to me as a last resort. Their doctors had tried everything possible but to no avail. It was amazing how frequently my aloe worked for them where conventional medication had failed.
One lady came to me with severe stomach pain that would not abate. Nothing her doctor had given her had helped. In such a circumstance all I can say is “I don’t know if it will help but why not give the aloe a try?” In her case she did try and over a period of a month her pain gradually went away. She takes the aloe daily, and the pain has not returned.
Nether Regions
Another lady came to me at her wits end. She had been suffering with a condition which for two years had completely baffled her hospital specialists. Being a modest lady she explained to me that she had a constant soreness and discharge in her ‘nether regions’.
Not only had she been unable to have sexual relations with her husband over these two years but she also found it painful to walk. It was a particular shame as she was just a young girl with children. She gave Natural Living Aloe a try and within a month her condition had completely cleared up. No more pain or soreness.
A gentleman with a severe case of acid reflux came to me, his condition would leave him crying with the pain for hours at night. You would not be surprised to learn that taking the aloe daily got him quickly back to peaceful nights.
